Mr. Wayne Crocker

Mr. Wayne Crocker (audio coming soon)
Mr. Crocker is the Library Director of the Petersburg Public Library. He is also a founder and member of the board of the McKenney Foundation, a nonprofit created to develop an African-American museum in the old public library. The old library was active during segregation and was the site of a sit-in in 1960, led by Wyatt Tee Walker, pastor of Gillfield Baptist Church. When a federal court mandated that the city desegregate the library, the city chose to shut it down completely. They later re-opened and allowed black patrons to use the library freely.
